FikaTrade doesn’t have a self-service button to cancel, reverse or refund a payment — these outcomes happen automatically, based on what your payment provider reports back.

What a reversal is

A reversal changes a payment that was already Collected back to a reversed state. It’s triggered automatically — for example, when a card refund is completed with the provider, or a PayTo collection is returned or dishonoured by the customer’s bank. FikaTrade doesn’t initiate a reversal itself; it only reflects one once the provider confirms it.

Refunds

There’s no refund button in FikaTrade for either PayTo or card payments. If you need to refund a customer:
  • Card payments — the refund is processed with FikaTrade’s payment provider, not inside FikaTrade. Once the refund settles, the original payment on your Transactions page will show as reversed.
  • PayTo payments — no refund mechanism exists for PayTo. Contact FikaTrade support if a customer needs money returned for a PayTo payment.
Contact FikaTrade support to arrange a refund.

Cancelling a payment before it’s collected

FikaTrade doesn’t currently show a self-service “cancel this payment” action once an invoice is ready to collect. If you need to stop a payment from being collected, contact FikaTrade support before selecting Collect Payment.

Effect on your payout

A reversed payment is removed from what counts toward your payout, or reversed out of a payout that already included it — see Payouts and settlement.
