# Customers and products troubleshooting

> Common issues finding customers or products, and duplicate records.

## Can't find a customer

**What it means:** the customer list only supports a name search — there's no other way to filter it.

**What to check:** you're searching by the customer's exact name.

**What to do:** try a partial match, or browse the list directly.

**Who needs to act:** you.

## A customer was added twice

**What it means:** FikaTrade doesn't check for duplicates when you add a customer — it's possible to create two records for the same business.

**What to check:** whether both records represent the same business.

**What to do:** decide which record to keep and use [Archive or remove a customer](/supplier-guide/customers/archive-or-remove-a-customer) on the other — remembering that deleting a customer with order history archives it instead of erasing it.

## Can't find a product

**What it means:** the product list has no free-text search — only filters by category, sales account or pricing group.

**What to check:** your filters aren't narrowing the list too far.

**What to do:** clear filters and browse, or sort by name/code to locate it.

## A product code is rejected as a duplicate

**What it means:** product codes must be unique within your catalogue — FikaTrade rejects a second product using the same code.

**What to do:** use a different code, or check whether the product already exists.

## GST treatment looks wrong

**What it means:** each product has its own tax setting, which determines how GST is calculated for it.

**What to do:** check and correct the product's **Tax** setting.

**Who needs to act:** you.
