# Manage customer contacts and access

> How to give people at a customer's business access to order through FikaTrade.

FikaTrade doesn't have a separate concept of a "contact" who can be recorded without login access. Everyone associated with a customer's business is a **customer user** — a person with their own login to that customer's account. If you need to record a contact for reference only, there's currently no dedicated field for that beyond a customer's own address and delivery instructions.

## Before you begin

Any team member can invite a customer user, from the **Users** tab on the customer's record.

## Invite a customer user

1. Open the customer's record and go to the **Users** tab.
2. Select **New user**.
3. Enter the person's email address (required). You can also add their name and phone number.
4. Choose their role — **Admin** (customer administrator) or **Employee** — see [Roles for customer users](#roles-for-customer-users) below.
5. Leave **Send invite email** checked to email them an invitation, or uncheck it to create the invite without sending one.

This uses the same invitation system as inviting your own team — the difference is who the invitation is for.

## Roles for customer users

Customer companies have the same two roles as supplier companies — **Admin** (customer administrator) and **Employee** — but we haven't verified what, if anything, differs between them on the customer side of FikaTrade. Until this is confirmed, treat both roles as having equivalent ordering access rather than assuming a permission difference that hasn't been checked.

## Multiple users

A customer business can have more than one user. Each person you invite gets their own login, so you can see who placed which order.

## Remove access

From the customer's **Users** tab, select the user and remove them. This revokes their login access to that customer's account; it doesn't affect the customer record itself or their order history.

## What happens next

Once a customer user accepts their invitation, they can log in and start ordering from your catalogue at the pricing you've assigned to their business.
